On track - Home; bathroom mirror design - Brief Article

Sunset, Sept, 2003 by Peter O. Whiteley

No hinges appear at the side of this bathroom mirror, making it seem to float above the child-size, wall-hung sink. The surprise is that the 2-foot-square-framed mirror moves to one side on a pair of side-mounted drawer slides, which are attached to the wall and the back of the wood frame. Behind the mirror is a between-the-studs storage area that serves as a medicine cabinet.

The artful frame is constructed of vertical-grain ash, stained and embellished with looping pencil lines. The mirror is centered in the frame's 12-inch-square opening.
