What's growing in our gardens
Sunset, April, 2004
The garden staff takes great pride in the espaliered 'Mrs. Sam McGredy' roses planted on our front fence, and they're in full bloom this month. A rare variety sporting salmon pink blossoms, some of the plants are more than 50 years old. We have more pink bursting elsewhere: Our Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan' flowering cherry has a double rosy pink flower, and you still might be able to catch the show put on by our 'Akebono' cherries (they usually open during the last week of March).
