Teaching green

Sunset,  April, 2006  by Marja E. Van Den Hende

While reading about El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa (February 2006, page 24), I could not help smiling as I thought: What does not-for-profit YMCA Camp Campbell in the Santa Cruz Mountains have in common with a high-end resort in Taos, New Mexico? Our desire to be more eco-friendly.

We are looking forward to including the Dharma Living Designs percolation ponds and greenhouse as part of our Outdoor Science School curriculum. While we are not able to incorporate our beliefs in environmental stewardship to the same degree as El Monte Sagrado, we are proud that we will be using the same technology. We hope to leave a lasting impression with the younger members of our community.

We love to hear from you
