Highland Dell Inn. - Monte Rio, California - hotel reviews
Sunset, Sept, 1991
This recently renovated riverside inn is still appealingly rustic. Since its construction in 1906, it has hosted wives of Bohemian Club members attending their annual encampment at nearby Bohemian Grove.
Antiques and whimsical furnishings, such as a cabinet bed resembling a ship berth, distinguish 10 rooms with various arrangements of private and shared baths ($70 to $105). The Bohemian Suite ($195), complete with a bright red sunken tub, king-size brass bed, and two woodstoves, occupies the entire third floor.
Saturday dinners, a new feature at the inn this summer, cost $25.
