Copenhagen's museum of antique porcelain and silver - Royal Copenhagen Antiques

If your passions include fine old porcelain and silver, and your travels take you to Copenhagen, you'll want to peruse the treasures at Royal Copenhagen Antiques. The back parlor of this unusual shop (open since late 1986) houses the Georg Jensen Museum, which chronicles the world-famous Jensen company's history since its founding in 1904.

The front of the shop houses a large collection of antique silver by Jensen and porcelain by Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl. Some of the finest pieces for sale date back to the late 18th century Shop manager and museum curator Michael von Essen has a wealth of resources and can be very helpful in tracking the history of Jensen, Royal Copenhagen, or Bing & Grondahl pieces. We sent him a photocopy of a 1920s pin, and he was able to tell us its original style number and designer. You can order by mail ftom the shop, at Bredgade 11, 1260 Copenhagen K, Denmark.
