On the tree, each gift bag holds a tiny toy

Sunset, Dec, 1988

Tuck a tiny trinket inside these origami paper bags, then hang them ftom your Christmas tree, Children can search for their own mini-bags-names are written inside the pasted-on designs.

Materials include 9-5/8-inch-square origami sheets, a blunt knife (for scoring), 1/8-inch satin ribbon (12 inches per bag), white adhesive tape, a 3-inch length of 2-by-4 lumber, craft glue, index cards for outside designs, and felt-tip pens.

To make each bag, follow illustrations above. Once you get the hang of folding, you can omit drawing lines and scoring; simply wrap paper around the block. For suggested ideas for card motifs, see photograph above left. Wrap gifts in tissue paper and tuck inside.
