Kitchen boosters for petite cook

Two kitchen pull-outs help elevate this petite cook. Kay and Bob Schroer of Los Altos, California, designed both step-ups as part of their kitchen remodel. The 3 1/2-inch-high platform raises 5-foot 2-inch Kay enough so she can bear down on her work; it stores flush with the kick space. A rolling step stool built into the island lets her reach the top shelves of her ceiling-high cabinets.
