Bay Area virtuosos in recital - San Francisco Conservatory of Music's recital series

Students rarely see their teachers putting into practice what they preach, but at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's new recital series, it's the teachers' turn to perform. And you're invited. Monday evening solos and duets star the conservatory's faculty, several of whom are also members of the San Francisco Symphony.
Concerts are held in the school's small Hellman Hall, which seats just 300 and has redwood paneling for good acoustics. Performances begin at 8 P.M.
November 5, pianist Paul Hersh, works by Haydn, Chopin, Beethoven. November 12: cellist peter Shelton, Brahms' Sonata in F Major and Bach's Gamba Sonata in D major. November 26, pianist Mack McCray, Chopin's 24 Preludes, Opus 28, and Schubert's Sonata in A Major. December 3, cellist Irene Sharp, an all-Beethoven recital.
Tickets (at the door) cost $5, or $3 for students and seniors. The conservatory is at 1201 Ortega Street (at 19th Avenue), 7 can park in the school lot or on the street.
