The Seattle Art Museum recently unveiled plans for its new 8 1/2-acre Olympic Sculpture Park in the city's largest and last undeveloped waterfront property, overlooking Elliot Bay, near the central business district. Designed by architects Weiss/ Manfredi, the V-shaped former industrial site will include a pavilion for exhibitions and performances, a cafe and underground parking.

Works on view will include monumental pieces from the museum's collection, such as Calder's Eagle (1971), which was recently purchased for the park. The $60-million park has a projected opening date in 2004.
