The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art recently received a gift of some 100 photographs by 45 artists from museum trustee Carla Emil and her husband, Rich Silverstein. Spanning the history of photography, the selection features important works by Argot, Julia Margaret Cameron, Lewis Carroll, Man Ray, Joseph Cornell, Walker Evans, William Eggleston, Diane Arbus and Cindy Sherman, among others.
