Artists Space has selected Barbara Hunt as its new director, replacing Claudia Gould. Hunt was executive director of Visual AIDS since 1997.

Kristi L. Alexander has been named deputy director for exhibitions and collections of the Baltimore Museum of Art. She was formerly manager of collections and registration for the Frank H. McClung Museum at the University of Tennessee.

Elizabeth Mankin Kornhauser, chief curator of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Conn., has been appointed deputy director.

Lora Urbanelli is the new assistant director of the Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. She had been curator of the museum's department of prints, drawings and photographs since 1985.

Lelia Amalfitano has been named curator of the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. She has been curator and director of exhibitions and public programs at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for 13 years.

Terry Jelsing, executive director of the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, N.D., for the last four years, recently resigned. He led the museum, which opened in October 1997, through its planning and building campaigns.

Margit Rowell, chief curator of drawings at the Museum of Modern Art for the past five years, has announced her resignation in order to pursue writing and curatorial projects.
