German artist Tomma Abts has won the approximately $50,000 Turner Prize, given by the "rate Britain in London. She is the first female painter to win the prize since it was founded 22 years ago. Works by Abts and the other shortlisted artists, Phil Collins, Mark Titchner and Rebecca Warren, remain on view at the Tare through Jan. 14.
