The French Ministry of Culture has conferred its medals of the Order of Arts and Letters

The French Ministry of Culture has conferred its medals of the Order of Arts and Letters. Among the recipients is Bill Viola, who received the highest rank of Commander. Art dealer Paula Cooper, along with Pierre Apraxine, curator of the collection of Howard Gilman of the Gilman Paper Company, and Polly Roberts, deputy director and chief curator of the Fowler Museum at UCLA, have been named Chevaliers.

The honors are given to individuals who have made significant contributions to furthering the arts in France and around the world.
