Kathleen Bartels, assistant director at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, has been appointed director of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Janice Driesbach, curator of art since 1995 at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, is the new director of the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
Artist Ronald Jones has been named provost at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.
Elliot Bostwick Davis has been appointed chair of the Art of the Americas department at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Since 1992, she has served in various curatorial capacities at New York's Metropolitan Museum.
Isabelle Dervaux is the new curator of contemporary art and exhibition coordinator at the National Academy of Design in New York. For the last nine years, she has been with the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., most recently as associate curator.
Independent curator and writer Ingrid Schaffner has been named adjunct curator at the Philadelphia ICA.
Debra Singer has been appointed associate curator of contemporary art at the Whitney Museum. Since December 1998, she has served as branch curator of the Whitney at Philip Morris. Shamim Momin, assistant curator and manager of branch programs, now assumes that position.
Former art dealer Stuart Horodner has been named visual art curator at the Portland [Ore.] Institute for Contemporary Art. He recently served as director and curator of the Bucknell Art Gallery at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.
