Samuel Sachs II, director of New York's Frick Collection for the past six years, has announced his resignation, effective in September. During his tenure, he took various steps to modernize the institution, such as introducing Acoustiguides and launching a Web site, as well as organizing such exhibitions as "Velazquez in New York Museums" and "El Greco: Themes and Variations."
