Museum of Fine Arts, Boston - Museum News - 60 works of art donated - Brief Article

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, recently received 60 paintings, drawings and sculptures assembled by Melvin Blake and Frank Purnell, the late New York collectors who focused on Surrealism and figurative works. The gift includes works by numerous artists not previously represented in the museum, including Rene Magritte, Balthus, Paul Delvaux, Lucien Freud and R.B.
Kitaj. It also features major pieces by Larry Rivers, Domenico Gnoli, Fernando Botero, Claudio Bravo and Antonio Lopez Garcia. The works are currently on view in the museum's Rabb Gallery, though Aug. 24.
