Recipients of the Skowhegan Awards, given by the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, have been announced. Artists John Wesley, David Hammons and Elizabeth LeCompte receive the Skowhegan Medal for accomplishments in painting, sculpture and performance, respectively, while Rick Lowe, founder of Houston's Project Row Houses, receives the Skowhegan Governors Award for service to the arts.
The Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney Award for outstanding patronage goes to Dallas-based Howard and Cindy Rachofsky.
