The Guide is a comprehensive alphabetical listing, arranged by state and city, of U.S. museums, galleries, university galleries, nonprofit exhibition spaces, corporate consultants, private dealers and print dealers.

Included are addresses, phone numbers, business hours, names of directors and a short description of the type of art shown. Artists exhibited at each location are listed.

Institutions are categorized by the following designations: G (gallery), M (museum), U (university gallery), N (nonprofit exhibition space), C (corporate consultant), D (private dealer), P (print dealer).

Each institution is assigned a key number, used for cross-referencing in all indexes,
