The University of Mary Washington Galleries is sponsoring a bi-annual competitive painting exhibition, opening January 2006. The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2006

CaLl for Entries: June t-September 6, 2005. The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery sponsors its first-ever Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to enter one figurative work in the medium of painting or sculpture. The first-prize is $25,000, including a commission to portray a remarkable living American for the Gallery's permanent collection. There are other awards, and all finalists' works will form the lead exhibition the Gallery reopens in 2006.
