Mid-Atlantic New Painting 2006.
The University of Mary Washington Galleries is sponsoring a bi-annual competitive painting exhibition, opening January 2006. All artists living in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia are eligible to enter. The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2006
CaLl for Entries: June t-September 6, 2005. The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery sponsors its first-ever Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to enter one figurative work in the medium of painting or sculpture. The first-prize is $25,000, including a commission to portray a remarkable living American for the Gallery's permanent collection. There are other awards, and all finalists' works will form the lead exhibition the Gallery reopens in 2006.
