> The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York has announced the winners of the 2006 National Design Awards, to be presented on Oct. 18. Among the recipients are MOMA design curator Paola Antonelli, architect Thom Mayne, interior designer Michael Gabellini and the design firm 2x4. Miami collector Craig Robins will receive an award for design patronage, and the lifetime achievement award goes to architect Paolo Soleri.
