Presenters wanted for 2004 ACA National Conference

Camping Magazine, Jan-Feb, 2003

Conference Vision Statement To position camp professionals for the future through inspiring presentations and challenging discussions of emerging trends, vital issues, and visionary thinking.

ACA invites you to design and submit a proposal for a session at the 2004 ACA National Conference, which will be held in San Francisco, California, on February 24-27.

Theme: Community

How does camp create a sense of community and help campers and staff contribute to this community? Teamwork, belonging, assuming responsibility, and respect for others are all part of intentional community.

Session Content

Your session should be consistent with the theme for this year's conference and with the conference vision statement. It should include information that:

* is relevant and practical

* gives opportunities for information exchange and problem solving

* addresses new ideas, tools, and techniques

Presentation Lengths

* 1 1/4-hour interest sessions

* 2 1/2-hour workshops

Target Audience

ACA conference attendees include camp owners and directors, key administrative staff, and key program and support staff working in day camps, resident camps, and conference centers. The audience ranges from new part-time practitioners to individuals with more than twenty years of experience in agency, private, or religiously affiliated camps and affiliated fields and services.
