Rewarding Employees - Brief Article

Camping Magazine, May, 2000

One the most effective methods of motivating employees is to give them opportunities and rewards, experts say. Workers particularly respond to public praise for their achievements. To motivate your employees:

* praise their good work in front of their co-workers, mention employees' names during staff meetings, post a note on a staff bulletin board, give certificates of merit, or compliment their work while others are listening

* give tangible rewards for great work, such as monetary bonuses, time off, food, or T-shirts
