This beautifully illustrated, spiral-bound book includes unique, fun ideas that campers will enjoy. Complete with detailed instructions and step-by-step directions, the craft ideas are divided by season; however, many would be appropriate to do year-round. In addition to being fun, most crafts include an educational element, such as "Sprout a Pet" (filling a stocking with potting soil and birdseed), which teaches basic science, and "Friends Pin," which teaches tolerance and friendship. All projects can be done with household items and basic craft supplies. This book would be a great addition to your arts and crafts library. (The Millbrook Press, 2000)
