Service-Fee Structure Survey Coming - American Camping Association - Brief Article

Camping Magazine, Sept, 1999

As many of you know, the ACA National Board of Directors recently charged the Service-Fee Task Force to design a service-fee structure that will:

* be equitable to camps regardless of budget

* be simple to calculate, easy to understand, easy to administer

* be a long-term solution for the organization

* address identified issues concerning fees for multiple sites, split of service fees between multiple sections, organizational membership, and the effect of accreditation on year-round programs vs. summer-only programs

ACA leaders are addressing new language and membership categories. To ensure the new service-fee system reflects all camps, service-fee paying camps are being asked to complete a survey to address how the proposed fees would be calculated. This important and timely survey should be delivered to each camp by the end of the summer. Your prompt attention and consideration is appreciated.
