Back-to-school stress - Brief Article
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), August, 2001
Back-to-school stress teenagers experience can leave its mark on their faces, suggests Mary Christian, assistant professor of dermatology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. "Stress can be a catalyst for acne outbreaks because it makes the body produce greater quantities of androgene hormone, which in turn causes some skin glands to pump out more oil.
Teens are more prone to this type of outbreak because of hormonal changes."
