A truckload of BBQ - What's New? - Jack Stack Barbecue foods - Brief Article

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), July, 2002

Summertime is grilling weather, but occasionally the rain gods may interfere with your plans. There's no reason to give up your barbecuing experience in wet weather, though, if you have the foresight to stock your refrigerator with the goodies from Jack Stack Barbecue, Kansas City, Mo. For $79.99 (plus shipping), you can feast on the Kansas City Favorite assortment to your heart's--or, more likely, stomach's--content.

This BBQ cornucopia consists of two racks of tender, falling-off-the-bone, hickory-smoked pork ribs; a bag of succulent pork burnt ends; two pounds each of barbecue beans with hickory BBQ beef, and cheesy corn bake, the latter a sizzling casserole of niblets and mild cheddar; a jar of KC all-purpose rub; and a bottle of Jack Stack Original KC BBQ Sauce. There's easily enough to feed a quartet of barbecue enthusiasts, though just two of us put a hefty dent in our supplies one evening.

Everything comes in plastic bags and/or containers, ready for reheating in an oven (15-20 minutes for the meat, 8-12 for the beans and corn) or microwave (6-8 minutes meat, 4-6 beans and corn). If the sun should come out, pop the meat onto the grill for 3-4 minutes a side, lather on the sauce, and bring to the table. Ironically, since the ribs and ends are precooked, you may get better results by not using a grill to reheat them.

To order, call 1-877-419-7427 or online at www.jackstackbbq.com, then sit back and wait for your barbecue bonanza to arrive via next-day air.
