Move from piles to files - What's New? - Brief Article - Product/Service Evaluation

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), March, 2004

Boredom and frustration are the two deadly emotions--at least in our book. As to the former, well ... we have no advice to offer since we have no practical experience in that area. Frustration, however, is an entirely different matter. On this subject, our expertise is endless. However, we'll spare you the boredom of hearing all about it--with one exception (which we offer up only because we've found a workable solution).

There is nothing in this whole wide world more frustrating than being disorganized with paperwork. The "it's here somewhere--I think" syndrome is the absolute pits. The solution--which we endorse with great gratitude--comes from Sanford Corporation, Bellwood, Ill., and its Active View organization products. The idea is to "move from piles to files." Seven items help chronic pliers establish an easy-to-manage organization system while giving fliers even more options to enhance their methods:

1. Project Stepper: Lifts file folders off a flat surface for easy identification and streamlined organization. 2. Note Tracker: Holds your sticky notes in place until a job is complete. 3. Project Sleeves: Keeps up to six projects or assignments organized; lies flat on a desk, or hangs on the wall for easy access. 4. Project Platform: Brings binders, folders, or paperwork to eye level for simplified reading. 5. Task Trays: Helps prioritize projects by stacking materials in easily accessible containers. 6. Project Keeper: Opens to reveal sleeves for up to six projects; closes securely for trouble-free transport. 7. Project Band-It: Organizes papers, CDs, fabric swatches, and other components in an easy-to-carry, banded folder.

Active View is available at mass retail and office supply stores nationwide. Suggested retail prices range from $4.99 to $11.99.
