You never can have enough ice cubes
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), July, 2008
When we think about all the activities we're involved in at this time of year, from barbecues to pool parties to outings at the beach, the one constant in all these situations is we never seem to have enough ice. Whether the children and all their friends want lemonade on a hot day or we're just trying to pack a cooler to take to the kids' baseball game, we always could use more cubes.
Short of stopping at the convenience store to pick up a four-pound bag, we hadn't found a fast solution to this inconvenience until we came across the Portable/Silver Countertop Ice Maker ($199.99) from Haler America, New York, which can produce 33 pounds of ice in 24 hours. With a silver ABS body and soft touch electronic controls, it can make cubes in three sizes in as little as six minutes.
