The news keeps getting worse for House Republicans
National Review, June 2, 2008
The news keeps getting worse for House Republicans. They lost a special election in a Louisiana district they had owned for three decades. The Republicans tried to tie the pro-life, pro-gun Democratic candidate to Barack Obama's liberalism, and predictably failed. The story repeated itself in a special election in Mississippi, in a district Bush had won with 62 percent of the vote in 2004.
In New York, meanwhile, Rep. Vito Fossella was pulled over for driving drunk--and it emerged that he was going to visit his mistress and their daughter. Perhaps the House Republicans can get themselves protected as an endangered species?
