Speaking of hearts and minds, take heart from the recent example of Mosul, Iraq
National Review, June 30, 2008
Speaking of hearts and minds, take heart from the recent example of Mosul, Iraq. The Iraqis and their helpers there chased away al-Qaeda. So bread returned to the bakeries--the local bread, called "sammoun." Why had it disappeared? Al-Qaeda had disallowed it because this type of bread did not exist at the time of the Prophet.
Also, cucumbers and tomatoes could once again be displayed side by side. Why had this been disallowed? Sexually provocative. When we defeat al-Qaeda, we defeat insanity, and allow life to proceed again.
