NASA scientist James Hansen's literary output reads like the bumf one might find in the bulletin of an enduring Big Sur commune

National Review, July 14, 2008

NASA scientist James Hansen's literary output reads like the bumf one might find in the bulletin of an enduring Big Sur commune. His present crusade is a call to put on trial--for "crimes against humanity," no less--the chief executives of the world's oil companies. The crime of which they are accused is disagreeing with one James Hansen on the subject of global warming and the relationship of petroleum to same: "In my opinion, these CEOs should be tried for high crimes against humanity and nature," Hansen recently wrote in an article for the World-watch Institute, an environmental organization.

Hansen is the head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies and a professor at Columbia University, but Torquemada in a lab coat is still Torquemada.
