Liberals, meanwhile, might well reconsider whether die-hard opposition to tax cuts really serves their interests. There's a reason that President Clinton and Al Gore are careful not to close the door on tax cuts, and that leading Democrats like Bob Torricelli have co-sponsored tax cuts with Republicans.

By letting paleoliberals blind them to the failure of the welfare system, liberals handicapped themselves for years. Do they really want to be left behind, again, in Dow Jones America?
