Social scientists in Britain have conducted a survey of attitudes toward Islam among the nation's university students

National Review, Sept 1, 2008

Social scientists in Britain have conducted a survey of attitudes toward Islam among the nation's university students. Of the Muslim students, one-third support the creation of a worldwide caliphate, about the same number believe that killing in the name of Islam is justifiable, and two-fifths want the sharia code incorporated into British law.

Among non-Muslims, 55 percent believe that Islam is incompatible with democracy, and nearly one in ten have "little respect" for Muslims. "The solution is to stop talking about celebrating diversity and focus on integration and assimilation," declared one academic. And perhaps the unassimilable Muslims should be encouraged to resettle in Muslim nations, where they will surely be much happier, and free to indulge their fantasies of a worldwide caliphate without disturbance from infidel sociologists.
