Some years ago we quipped that if a tornado were ever to pass through Manhattan, the New York Times headline on the story would include: "Blacks and Hispanics Hardest Hit." Well, well, life imitates art. Here is Rep. James Clyburn (D., S.C.) to tell us that "African-Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change." The congressman was launching a campaign to get black Americans more involved in environmental activism.

This comes shortly after publication of a paper by a "climate justice" advocacy group making similar claims. In line with the longstanding tendency of the Left to bond all issues together in a grand critique of capitalist society, "racial justice" and "climate change" are now indissolubly joined.
