Nepal Airlines, the national carrier for the Himalayan kingdom, had a problem with one of the two Boeing 757s that are the pride of its tiny fleet

Nepal Airlines, the national carrier for the Himalayan kingdom, had a problem with one of the two Boeing 757s that are the pride of its tiny fleet. The plane was malfunctioning, and technicians were baffled. Airline executives decided to try a faith-based approach. Reasoning that they must somehow have incurred the displeasure of Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, they sacrificed two goats on the tarmac in front of the plane.

That seemed to do the trick: The plane later took off and flew to Hong Kong with no further mishaps. The blogger who calls himself Galloping Beaver came up with a headline we shall not attempt to improve upon: "Akash Bhairab is My Co-pilot."
