State 'hood: bringing Puerto Rico into the Union would in some ways help Puerto Rico, but in no way help the Union

The benefits statehood would bring Puerto Rico are clear. What Congress has failed to show is the benefit to the rest of the United States. In fact, Congress might be better occupied discussing the ceding of Puerto Rico back to Spain.
