National Review, May 31, 1985 by F. Reid Buckley.

> On the way back, our guide (who truly was darling) dropped a piquant personal anecdote. In the archaeological museum of Chapultepec Park, in Mexico City, she once saw an ancient toy animal--what kind I forget; a dog? a tapir? an armadillo?--on wheels. Functioning wheels! Fantastic, no?--that the Mayans should have had knowledge of the wheel and its locomotive possibilities after all: for toys, but not for their Brobdingnagian labors!
