TIARRA MUKHERJEE: After 14 years collaborating with other hip-hop artists like Joey Starr and Busta Flex, you recently released your first single, "J'Voulais," which has been a huge success. Where do you draw your inspiration from today?

SULLY SEFIL: A lot of songs from the States. From Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay-Z--I like the music and the flow, but I don't agree with the lyrics. Many of the lyrics depict women in a bad fashion. It's not good for young kids to grow up with those images.

TM: What's your goal as an artist?

SS: I want the American people to understand French hip-hop. Even if they don't understand the lyrics, they can feel what I'm talking about through the emotions of the music.
