Interview, Dec, 2001 by Scott Lyle Cohen
Directed by Todd Field
When a murder hits home, Matt (Tom Wilkinson) and Ruth (Sissy Spacek) Fowler's marriage takes a wounding of its own. In his struggle to keep it together, Wilkinson turns in an unforgettable performance; Spacek, too, is fantastic. In light of current events, the pain that consumes this film is sadly all too familiar, and like the images replayed on television, you can barely stand to watch, but simply can't look away.
