Wu-Tang Clan. - Review - sound recording review

Interview, Jan-April, 2001 by Dimitri Ehrlich

The W (Loud)

Despite a solid-gold list of guest appearances (Snoop Dogg, Nas, Isaac Hayes, Redman, Busta Rhymes), The W lacks the multi-hued vibrancy of the Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 masterpiece, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), or the knockout punch of 1997's blockbuster, Wu-Tang Forever. There are some subtle masterpiece beats by producer the RZA, and above-average raps from all of the Wu-Tang MCs, but conceptually, the nine-headed dragon from Shaolin now sounds one blunt and two Hennessys over the line.
