Jordan reconceives Jean-Pierre Melville's Bob Le Flambeur (1955), a crime caper about a down-on-his-luck gambler with some lofty heist plans. Only problem is, this remake's already been remade, as anyone who sat through Ocean's Eleven--either version--knows. In spite of the tired story line, the cast, an interesting international mix of actors including Nick Nolte, Nutsa Kukhianidze, and Said Taghmaoui, delivers sharp, wry performances.
