Interview, April, 2000 by Henry Cabot Beck
Directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans
The scariest thing about Scary Movie is that anybody would want to make another parody of the horror genre, which already parodies itself. Still, one can never predict when a cheesy spoof can gather enough momentum to achieve liftoff, and every now and then the Wayans clan catches a little sky. Here's hoping the audience groans with as much enthusiasm as the film's myriad teenage actors.
