The sight of an errant nipple was enough to divide a nation, but Ms. Jackson's new raciness--both in her life and in her lyrics--may not be enough to draw attention away from her music. When one actually listens to all 22 of these lushly produced songs, what's most apparent is that even at its sauciest, this record is about as sexy as yesterday's paper. There are highlights: "All Nite (Don't Stop)," a searingly funky club anthem, and "I Want You," a 1960s soul throwback. Nevertheless, if only Janet could get naked musically--now that would be exciting.
