Interview, June, 2001 by Jon Caramanica
2000 Watts (RCA)
Tyrese is a man in need of a ballad. Lots of them. 1998's unpretentious ode "Sweet Lady" showcased his clear, soothing voice. But on 2000 Watts, Tyrese is undermined by sleazy hip-hop soul that's five years out of date and perennially out of style. Despite dulcet moments, 2000 is mainly dull.
