Topic: RSS FeedReview: Chuck & Buck. - Review - movie review
Interview, August, 2000 by Guy Flatley
Directed by Miguel Arteta
What's a grown man to do when the lovestruck lad who, at the age of eleven, introduced him to the joys of fellatio suddenly pops back into his life, determined to pick up where he'd gone down? That's the question nagging Chuck, the virile, soon-to-be-wed yuppie played by Chris Weitz in this painfully funny study of sexual fixation. Screenwriter Mike White does magnificent double duty playing Buck, the geeky, lollipop-sucking stalker from Chuck's past. Impressive too is Paul Weitz (real-life brother of Chris) as the actor picked by Buck to portray Chuck in a lunatic play he's penned. Last time out, Chris and Paul teamed as producer and director of American Pie. This time, we get the meat and potatoes.
