Go, green, go! - clothes and bath products from the Emporio Armani Spring Collection in shades of green

Interview, March, 1994

The thing we love about Italian designer Giorgio Armani is how many seasons he's been fresh, and how he keeps sprouting new ideas, and how his vision keeps on growing. To open this March issue, we wanted to plant some new ideas of our own. That's why you have in front of you a fashion story that's just for luck. Because in March, as luck would have it, we all see green - on the trees, in the gardens, the fields, and the parks; even holidays, like St. Patrick's Day, seem steeped in this envious color. Diana Vreeland, a woman who saw red, who felt passion, once said that "pink is the navy blue of India." The way we see it, green is the counterpoint to what is too often a black-and-white world. Because if you really think about it, what green means mostly is change: in traffic, or in the jams we sometimes get into in our lives, it reminds us that things are supposed to keep moving forward; in fashion, represented here by clothes and bath products from the Emporio Armani Spring Collection, it is a color that inspires new shades of meaning. So go ahead; go green.

Once you give yourself the go-ahead, you'll feel lucky that you did.
