Former FCC Chairman William Kennard now says allowing media companies to integrate media content and distribution was the biggest mistake of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. "There was tremendous pressure on policymakers to consolidate these markets," the magazine Broadcasting & Cable reports Kennard saying during a lecture sponsored by the Media Access Project.
