Lupe Vasquez, who has worked at Basic Vegetable Products for thirty-one years, has been on strike against the company since July 7. She and other members of Teamsters Local 890 opposed the garlic and onion dehydrating company when it imposed a wage freeze, a two-tier wage system, a change in the pension plan, and an increase in the co-pay for health insurance.
