Missing Wellstone - Letters to the Editor - Brief Article - Letter to the Editor

Progressive, The, Jan, 2003 by Michael True

Your December issue is truly a note of sanity in a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world. I liked Howard Zinn's column on stopping the war, Colman McCarthy on Jimmy Carter's Nobel Peace Prize, and David Barsamian's interview with Danny Glover. The most essential contribution, however, was the moving tribute to Paul Wellstone, with his reminder to celebrate the past, to challenge the present, and to build the future.

The man was a passionate, intelligent, and hardworking progressive who challenged each of us to remain faithful to that noble tradition, because, as he put it, "It's the right thing to do. It's what we stand for."
