Bicyclists, pedestrians, skaters, and roller bladers created a moving "fossil-fuel free zone" to celebrate Earth Day in Manhattan. The group wrote a letter that outlined their concerns about city policies they feel jeopardize global peace and the environmental health of the planet and delivered it to Mayor Michael Bloomberg's townhouse. The letter asked Bloomberg to restart New York's recycling program and to invest in alternative transportation policies.
